School of Nautical Studies provide sound academic and professional training for Nigeria/Foreign midshipmen and women. Its provide a strong foundation for young Nigerians/ Foreign student wishing to build a career in hydrographic surveys, environmental support and to train middle level manpower for Nigeria's hydrography industry.
School of Nautical Studies offers ND and HND courses in Nautical Science and Professional Short Courses in Maritime Safety and other Seafarers Courses.
The philosophy is to train competent Marine Engineers and Marine Electrotechnology officers in line with international best practices. The programme combines theoretical, analytical and laboratory work so that the graduates will fit into shore and off-shore Maritime Engineering work. A large part of the programme is built around IMO models which combine Merchant – Navy Training and other safety Mandatory training so that on graduation, the graduates can work under pressure and difficult conditions obtainable at sea.
School of Marine Engineering offers ND and HND programmes in MARINE ENGINEERING and ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (Note HND in ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING is undergoing professional review).
The philosophy is to train manpower for management capacities in maritime and other allied fields such as the oil and gas, marine insurance, maritime law, import/export practice, banking, etc. The school has expanded her scope to provide training in General Logistics and Transport through the Professional Programmes of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding of Nigeria.
School of Maritime Studies offers NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS STUDIES and HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT.
